DEFINITION: The audible alarm does not sound under any of the following conditions:

    • The driver's seat belt is unbuckled when the ignition switch is turned to RUN.
    • The head lamps are ON with the ignition switch OFF.
    • The key is in the ignition switch with the driver's door open.
    • The vehicle exceeds 120 Km/H (RPO UD4 only).

    • Unbuckle the driver's seat belt and turn the ignition switch to RUN.
    • Turn the head lamps ON with the ignition switch OFF.
    • Place the key in the ignition switch and open the driver's door.
    • Operate the vehicle safely in excess of 120 Km/H (RPO UD4 only):
        1. Block the front wheels.
        2. Raise and support the rear axle to allow safe operation of the vehicle.
        3. Start the engine, place the vehicle in Drive, and slowly accelerate to 125 Km/H.
        4. Gradually slow the vehicle to a complete stop, place shifter in Park, and turn the ignition switch OFF.

  1. Disconnect multi-function alarm module connector C1.
  2. Connect a J 35616-200 unpowered test lamp between multi-function alarm module connector C1 cavity B1 for CKT 1040 (ORN) and ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp light?

Connect a J 39200 DMM between multi-function alarm module connector C1 cavity B2 for CKT 150 (BLK) and ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Is continuity present?

Repair the open in CKT 1040 (ORN) between the IP fuse block and the multi-function alarm module. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the open in CKT 150 (BLK) between the multi-function alarm module and ground G201. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
