When the ignition switch is in the RUN position, power is available to the heater and A/C controller's heated mirror solid state timer from HTR-A/C Fuse 12 through CKT 141 (BRN). Also, power is available at all times to the heater and A/C controller's heated mirror relay contacts from HTD MIR Fuse 2 through CKT 1440 (ORN). Depressing the heated mirror push-button on the heater and A/C controller starts the solid state timer, which activates the heated mirror relay in order to apply voltage through CKT 267 (ORN) to both of the power outside rearview mirror heating elements. Because the heating elements have ground through CKT 150 (BLK) to ground G201, both of the elements energize. Recreational vehicles with the upfitter package have a second ground connection at ground G200.

When voltage is available to the heated mirror relay, the light emitting diode (LED) indicator illuminates. The solid state timer nominally times for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, the timer de-energizes the relay. Depressing the push-button again re-initiates the timed operation. The relay also de-energizes when the ignition switch is not in the RUN position.
