Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle and support with safety stands. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  2. Object Number: 188050  Size: SH
  3. Remove the oil filter from the engine block. Clean the oil filter mounting surfaces.
  4. Remove the oil pan drain plug and drain the engine oil. Clean the oil pan drain plug and mounting surfaces.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the oil filter to the engine block. Tighten the oil filter to oil filter manufacturers specifications.
  2. Install the drain plug to the oil pan.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten drain plug to 28 N·m (21 lb ft).

  4. Remove the safety stands and lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  5. Fill the crankcase with oil. Refer to Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations in Maintenance and Lubrication.
