Removal Procedure
Caution: Under pressure, the temperature of the solution in the radiator can
be considerably higher, without boiling. Removing the radiator cap while the
engine is hot (pressure is high), will cause the solution to boil instantaneously,
with explosive force. The solution will spew out over the engine, fenders,
and the person removing the cap. Serious bodily injury may result. Flammable
antifreeze, such as alcohol, is not recommended for use at any time. Flammable
antifreeze could cause a serious fire.
- Install a
suitable length of hose on the drain cock nipple.
- Place a drain pan under the radiator drain cock hose.
- After the engine cools down, remove the radiator cap.
- If equipped with diesel engine, using a 1/4 inch drive extension,
partially open the radiator drain cock (2) in order to drain the coolant
from the radiator.
- Completely open and remove the drain cock from the radiator.
- If equipped with gas engine, turn the drain cock (1) until
the metal pin on the drain cock is aligned with the opening slot.
- Pull the drain cock out of the radiator.
Installation Procedure
- If equipped with diesel engine, install
the drain cock (2) using a flat-head screwdriver, close the drain cock.
- If equipped with gas engine, align the metal pin on the drain
cock (1) with the opening slot on the radiator.
- Push the drain cock into the radiator slot. and close the drain
cock.
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to

- Inspect the system for leaks.
