Removal Procedure
- Partially drain the engine
coolant. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
.
- Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to the appropriate procedure:
- Remove the radiator inlet hose from the radiator.
- If equipped with 4.3L,
remove the radiator inlet hose from the water outlet.
- If equipped with 5.0L
or 5.7L, remove the radiator inlet hose from the water outlet.
- If equipped with 6.5L,
remove the radiator inlet hose from the water outlet.
- If equipped with 8.1L,
remove the radiator inlet hose from the water outlet.
Installation Procedure
Important: The radiator hoses use a spring-type clamp at the hose connections.
When using this type of clamp, install the radiator hoses on dry, non-painted
surfaces in order to ensure proper sealing. Reusing the spring-type clamps
on aftermarket hoses is not recommended.
- If equipped with 4.3L,
install the radiator inlet hose to the water outlet.
- If equipped with 5.0L
or 5.7L, install the radiator inlet hose to the water outlet. Ensure the radiator
hose is properly seated in the hose bracket.
- If equipped with 6.5L,
install the radiator inlet hose to the water outlet. Ensure the radiator hose
is properly seated in the hose bracket.
- If equipped with 8.1L,
install the radiator inlet hose to the water outlet.
- Install the radiator inlet
hose to the radiator.
- Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to the appropriate procedure:
- Fill the engine coolant. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
.
- Inspect for coolant leaks.
