Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 366998 Size: SH
  1. Partially drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to the appropriate procedure:
    3. •  Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 4.3L
    •  Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 5.0L and 5.7L
    •  Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 6.5 (L65)
    •  Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 8.1L
  3. Remove the radiator inlet hose from the radiator.

  4. If equipped with 4.3L, remove the radiator inlet hose from the water outlet.

    5. Object Number: 160861 Size: SH
  5. If equipped with 5.0L or 5.7L, remove the radiator inlet hose from the water outlet.

    6. Object Number: 160863 Size: SH
  6. If equipped with 6.5L, remove the radiator inlet hose from the water outlet.

    7. Object Number: 708083 Size: SH
  7. If equipped with 8.1L, remove the radiator inlet hose from the water outlet.

Installation Procedure

Important: The radiator hoses use a spring-type clamp at the hose connections. When using this type of clamp, install the radiator hoses on dry, non-painted surfaces in order to ensure proper sealing. Reusing the spring-type clamps on aftermarket hoses is not recommended.

  1. If equipped with 4.3L, install the radiator inlet hose to the water outlet.

    2. Object Number: 160861 Size: SH
  2. If equipped with 5.0L or 5.7L, install the radiator inlet hose to the water outlet. Ensure the radiator hose is properly seated in the hose bracket.

    3. Object Number: 160863 Size: SH
  3. If equipped with 6.5L, install the radiator inlet hose to the water outlet. Ensure the radiator hose is properly seated in the hose bracket.

    4. Object Number: 708083 Size: SH
  4. If equipped with 8.1L, install the radiator inlet hose to the water outlet.

    5. Object Number: 366998 Size: SH
  5. Install the radiator inlet hose to the radiator.
  6. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to the appropriate procedure:
    7. •  Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 4.3L
    •  Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 5.0L and 5.7L
    •  Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 6.5 (L65)
    •  Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 8.1L
  7. Fill the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  8. Inspect for coolant leaks.
