Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect both of the battery negative cables from the batteries. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  2. Remove the engine cover from the vehicle. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.
  3. Remove the turbocharger. Refer to Turbocharger Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 549749  Size: SH
  5. Remove the oil pump drive clamp retaining bolt.
  6. Remove the oil pump drive clamp.
  7. Remove the oil pump drive.
  8. Remove and discard the gasket.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the new gasket to the oil pump drive.
  2. Important:  Clean the bore and apply a small amount of clean engine oil in the bore and the seal for the oil pump drive gear. The oil pump drive gear should slide into place with slight resistance. Do not force the oil pump drive gear into place.

  3. Install the oil pump drive to the engine.
  4. • Index the drive with the camshaft gear and the oil pump drive shaft.
    • Make sure the drive seats fully.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the clamp and the bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).

  7. Install the turbocharger. Refer to Turbocharger Replacement .
  8. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim
  9. Connect the battery negative cables to the batteries. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
