Removal Procedure

Notice: Handle the electronic throttle control components carefully. Use cleanliness in order to prevent damage. Do not drop the electronic throttle control components. Do not roughly handle the electronic throttle control components. Do not immerse the electronic throttle control components in cleaning solvents of any type.

  1. Remove the TAC module retaining fasteners (2).
  2. Disconnect the TAC module harness connectors from the TAC module (3).
  3. Remove theTAC module (3).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 707963  Size: SH
  1. Connect the TAC module harness connectors.
  2. Install the TAC module (3) to the mounting studs (1) on the cowl.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Important: Always use a torque wrench in order to obtain the proper torque.

  4. Install the TAC module retaining fasteners (2).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the TAC module retaining fasteners to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  6. With the vehicle not in reduced engine power, turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF. With a scan tool , observe the TP sensor angle parameter while operating the accelerator pedal to test for proper throttle plate movement.
  7. Start the engine.
