Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Body and Accessories.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the EGR valve.
  3. Disconnect the EGR valve pipe from the EGR valve. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Pipe Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 728005  Size: SH
  5. Remove the two EGR valve retaining nuts (1).
  6. Remove the EGR valve (2).
  7. Remove the gasket (3) from the intake manifold.
  8. Clean the EGR valve mounting surface of dirt and debris.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 728005  Size: SH
  1. Install a new gasket (3) on the intake manifold.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the EGR valve (2) and two nuts (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  5. Connect the EGR valve pipe. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Pipe Replacement .
  6. Connect the EGR valve electrical connector.
  7. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Body and Accessories.
