Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Body and Accessories.

  2. Object Number: 728006  Size: SH
  3. Remove the retaining bolts (2)
  4. Remove the bolt (4) from the right side head.
  5. Remove the nuts (5) from the exhaust manifold.
  6. Remove the EGR valve pipe (3).
  7. Remove the gaskets (1) and (6).
  8. Clean the EGR valve pipe mounting surfaces of dirt and debris.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 728006  Size: SH
  1. Install new gaskets (1) and (6).
  2. Install the EGR valve pipe (3)
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the retaining bolts (2).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  6. Install the bolt (4) to the right side head.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  8. Install the nuts (5) to exhaust manifold
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  10. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
