Fuel Tank Filler Hose Replacement Passenger/Cargo Van
Removal Procedure
- Clean all the fuel pipe
and hose connections and the surrounding areas before disconnecting in order
to avoid contamination of the fuel system.
- Drain the fuel below the level of the fuel tank fill hose. Refer
to
Fuel Tank Draining
.
- Raise the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Loosen the fuel fill hose clamps (2).
- Remove the fuel fill hose.
- Cap the open end of the fuel tank.
Installation Procedure
- Uncap the fuel tank.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the fuel fill hose.
Tighten
Tighten the fuel fill hose clamps (2) to 2.75 N·m
(24 lb in).
- Lower the vehicle.
- Refill the fuel tank.
- Install the fuel filler cap.
- Connect the negative battery cable.

Removal Procedure

- Cap the open end of the fuel tank.
Installation Procedure

- Install the fuel fill hose (3).
Tighten
Tighten the fuel fill hose clamps (2) to 2.75 N·m
(24 lb in).
- Lower the vehicle.
- Refill the fuel tank.
- Install the fuel filler cap.
- Connect the negative battery cable.

- Lower the vehicle.
- Refill the fuel tank.
- Install the fuel filler cap.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
