Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the oil pan and filter. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid and Filter Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 14464  Size: SH
  3. Remove the bolts attaching the cover and pin to the transmission case.
  4. Remove the cover and pin.

  5. Object Number: 14467  Size: SH
  6. Remove the piston, ring, and springs. The piston and ring may remain inside the cover and pin.
  7. Remove the control valve, if replacing the 3-4 accumulator. Refer to Valve Body .

  8. Object Number: 97226  Size: SH
  9. Remove the spring, piston, ring, and pin.
  10. Inspect the accumulators. Refer to Valve Body (Accumulator Disassembly).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 97226  Size: SH
  1. Install the spring, piston, ring, and pin.
  2. Install the control valve, if removed. Refer to Valve Body .

  3. Object Number: 14467  Size: SH
  4. Install the springs, ring, and piston.

  5. Object Number: 14464  Size: SH
  6. Install the cover and pin.
  7. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  8. Install the bolts attaching the cover and pin to the transmission case.

    Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 11 N·m (97 lb in)

  9. Install the oil pan and filter. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid and Filter Replacement .
  10. Important: It is recommended that the transmission adaptive pressure (TAP) information be reset.

    Resetting the TAP values using a scan tool will erase all learned values in all cells. As a result, the ECM, PCM or TCM will need to relearn the TAP values. Transmission performance may be affected as new TAP values are learned,

  11. Reset the TAP values. Refer to Adapt Function .
