Mode Valve Actuator Replacement Upper

1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.
2. Remove the IP carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.



3. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the upper mode actuator (2).
4. Remove the upper mode actuator (2) from the heater case (4).
5. Remove the linkage from the upper mode actuator (2).

1. Install the linkage to the upper mode actuator (2).
2. Install the upper mode actuator (2) to the heater case (4).
3. Connect the vacuum hose to the upper mode actuator (2).
4. Install the IP carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
5. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.

Mode Valve Actuator Replacement Lower

1. Remove the IP carrier from the vehicle. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.



2. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the lower mode actuator (1).
3. Remove the lower mode actuator (1) from the heater case (4).
4. Remove the linkage from the lower mode actuator (1).

1. Install the linkage to the lower mode actuator (1).
2. Install the lower mode actuator (1) to the heater case (4).
3. Connect the vacuum hose to the lower mode actuator (1).
4. Install the IP carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
