Did you review the headlmmp operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Go to Exterior Lighting Systems Description and Operation

1. Turn ON the headlamps.
2. Turn the multifunction switch to the low beam position and then to the high beam position.

Does the headlamp system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Electrical Intermittents in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Turn ON the low beam headlamps.

Do the low beam headlamps operate correctly?

Go to Step 4

Go to Low and High Beams Headlamps Inoperative

Turn ON the high beam headlamps.

Does the high beam indicator illuminate?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 5

Test the headlamp high beam supply voltage signal circuit for high resistance, open or a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 6

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the multi-function switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 8

Repair the headlamp high beam supply voltage signal circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 9

Replace the multi-function switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column-Standard or Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column-Tilt.

Did you complete the replacement?
