Turn the ignition on.

Are the windshield washers always on?

Go to Step 3

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

  1. Disconnect the steering column connector C200.
  2. Turn the ignition on.

Are the windshield washers always on?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 7

  1. Disconnect the windshield wiper motor connector.
  2. Turn the ignition on.

Are the windshield washers always on?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 5

Test and repair the windshield wiper switch pulse delay signal circuit for a short to voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 9

Repair the windshield washer pump control circuit for a short to voltage. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 10

Test and repair the windshield wiper switch pulse delay signal circuit in the steering column harness for a short to voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Replace the windshield wiper/washer switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column-Tilt or Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column-Standard.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 10

Replace the windshield wiper motor cover. Refer to Wiper Motor Cover Replacement .
