Rear Seat Back Cushion Hinge Replacement Luxury (Y91)
Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear bench seat from the vehicle. Refer to
Rear Bench Seat Replacement
.
- Remove the carpet covering the center of the seat cushion frame
along the rear edge of the seat , near the inner hinge.
Important: Note the position of the hog rings for reassembly.
- Remove the hog rings that retain the carpet to the frame.
Important: Note the position and length of the bolts removed. This will assist
with reassembly.
- Remove the bolt that retain the inner seat back hinge to the seat cushion
frame.
- Remove the hook and loop fastener at the rear corner of the seat
cushion cover.
- Remove the hog rings that
retain the seat back cover to the seat cushion frame along the side of the
seat cover.
• | Remove only as many hog rings as necessary to gain access to the
seat back hinge mounting bolts on the seat cushion frame. |
• | Note the locations of the hog rings removed. This will assist
with reassembly. |
Important: Note the position and length of the bolts removed. This will assist
with reassembly.
- Remove the bolts that retain the seat back hinge to the seat cushion
frame.
- Remove the seat back and
the seat back hinges from the seat back frame.
- Remove the armrests. Refer to
Rear Seat Armrest Replacement
.
- Remove the bolts that retain the seat back hinges
to the seat back frame.
- Remove the seat back hinges from the seat back frame.
Installation Procedure
- Install the seat back hinges to the seat back frame.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bolts
that retain the seat back hinges to the seat back frame in the locations noted
during disassembly.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
- Install the armrests. Refer to
Rear Bench Seat Replacement
.
- Install the seat back
and seat back hinges to the seat.
- Install the bolts that
retain the seat back hinge to the seat cushion frame in the locations noted
during disassembly.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
- Install the hog rings
that retain the seat cushion cover and pad to the seat cushion frame along
the side of the seat cushion in the locations noted during disassembly.
- Connect the hook and loop fastener at the rear corner of the seat
cushion cover.
- Install the bolt that retains the inner seat back hinge to the
seat cushion frame.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
- Install the hog rings in the locations noted during disassembly.
- Install the carpet covering the center of the seat cushion frame
along the rear edge of the seat, near the inner hinge.
- Install the rear bench seat to the vehicle. Refer to
Rear Bench Seat Replacement
