96-02 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana Power Window Inoperative After Express Down - kw glass channel dome dim DRL electrical ground power short wire

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.

Driver’s power window motor is intermittently inoperative. This concern usually occurs after using the express down feature. This seems to occur more often with the engine running. A voltage fluctuation or feedback on the power window circuit may be causing the express down feature not to cancel when it reaches the end of its travel.

1. Check the battery cable connections at the battery, make sure the connections are tight and there is no corrosion.
2. If the van has a Goodwrench DRL kit installed, disconnect the red power wire for the daytime running light module. If the condition does not occur with the daytime running lights disconnected, then reinstall the power wire for the module in a new location

If the above corrections do not resolve the condition, inspect for any other type of voltage fluctuation, i.e. loose connections or feedback voltages, in the power window circuit

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
