J 23523-F Crankshaft Balancer Remover and Installer
Notice: The inertial weight section of the crankshaft balancer is assembled to the hub with a rubber type material. The correct installation procedures (with the proper tool) must be followed or movement of the inertial weight section of the hub will destroy the tuning of the crankshaft balancer.
3.1. | Install the stud to the crankshaft and thread the stud fully into the tapered hole in the crankshaft. |
3.2. | Install the crankshaft balancer (external) over the end of the crankshaft. |
3.3. | Install the bearings, washer, and the nut to the crankshaft using the following procedures: |
3.4. | Turn the nut to pull the crankshaft balancer (external) into place. |
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 270 N·m (200 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
