Removal Procedure

    Caution: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.

  1. Raise the vehicle.
  2. Caution: Floor jack must remain under the lower control arm during removal and installation to retain the lower control arm in position. Failure to do so could result in personal injury.

  3. Support the vehicle with suitable safety stands.

  5. Remove the nut (2) retaining the jounce bumper (1) to the lower control arm.
  6. Remove the jounce bumper (1) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the jounce bumper (1) to the lower control arm
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the nut (2) retaining the jounce bumper to the lower control arm.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the jounce bumper retaining nut to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Remove the safety stands, lower the vehicle.
