  1. Turn OFF the dome overide switch.
  2. Open the doors.
  3. Turn ON the dome overide switch.
  4. Turn ON the dome lamp switch.

Does the system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Electrical Intermittents in Wiring Systems

Are the courtesy lamps inoperative from the switch, doors and remote keyless entry, if equipped?

Is there a single courtesy lamp inoperative?

Are the courtesy lamps inoperative from the switch only?

Are the courtesy lamps inoperative from the all doors?

Remove and inspect the bulb.

Is the bulb OK?

Connect a test lamp between the battery positive voltage circuit and a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Disconnect the inoperative door jamb switch or mini-wedge switch.
  2. Open any door that correctly operates the courtesy lamps.
  3. Connect a test lamp between the interior lamp defeat switch signal circuit and a battery positive voltage circuit.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Connect a test lamp between the ground circuit and a battery positive voltage circuit.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Disconnect the headlamp switch connector.
  2. Open the doors.
  3. Connect a test lamp between the interior lamp defeat switch signal circuit of the headlamp switch and a battery positive voltage circuit.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Connect a fused jumper wire between the interior lamp control circuit of the headlamp switch connector and a good ground.

Do any courtesy lamps illuminate?

Test the interior lamp control circuit for an open. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Connect a fused jumper wire between the courtesy lamp low control circuit of the interior lamp control module connector or the remote control door lock receiver, if equipped, and a good ground.

Do any courtesy lamps illuminate?

  1. Disconnect the headlamp switch connector.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the ground circuit of the headlamp switch connector and a battery positive voltage circuit.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Connect a fused jumper between the ground circuit and the courtesy lamp low control circuit of the headlamp switch connector.

Do any courtesy lamps illuminate?

  1. Remove and inspect the CTSY 3A fuse.
  2. If the fuse is OK, install the fuse.

  1. Turn ON the courtesy lamps.
  2. Disconnect any courtesy lamp.
  3. Connect a test lamp between the battery positive voltage circuit of the courtesy lamp and a good ground.

Does the courtesy lamp illuminate?
