This bulletin is being revised to add model years and add a step to the Correction procedure. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 01-06-03-010 (Section 06 - Engine/Propulsion System).
Some customers may comment on one or more of the following conditions:
• | Drive belt noise (squeal) |
• | Service Engine Soon Light illuminated |
• | Generator Light illuminated |
• | Engine will not start |
• | Engine quits running |
This condition is most prevalent at outside temperatures below 0°C (32°F).
The plastic windshield water runoff duct may not be properly sealed or fastened to the cowl located directly above the generator. This can lead to runoff water from the windshield being directed onto the generator. During times of freezing temperatures, the ingested water can become frozen inside the generator, resulting in generator damage.
Replace the generator and reseal the windshield water runoff duct mating surface to the cowl and fastening it onto the studs in the cowl, ensuring that it is properly sealed at the three studs. Use the procedure and part numbers listed below.
