Removal Procedure
Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing
any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to
the vehicle or its components.
Notice: The TP sensor is an electrical component. Do not soak the TP sensor
in any liquid cleaner or solvent as damage may result.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the generator. Refer to
Generator Replacement
.
- Disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the TP sensor attaching screws (5).
- Remove the TP sensor (6).
- Remove the TP sensor O-ring seal (7).
Installation Procedure
- Install the TP sensor O-ring seal (7) on the TP sensor (6).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the TP sensor on the throttle body with the throttle valve in the closed position. Make sure the TP sensor lever lines up with the TP sensor drive lever on the throttle shaft.
- Install the TP sensor attaching screws (5).
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Connect the TP sensor electrical connector.
- Install the generator. Refer to

- Connect the negative battery cable.
