J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1190579  Size: SH
  1. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Remove the coolant recover reservoir. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement .
  3. Remove the evaporator inlet hose nut  (1) from the evaporator.
  4. Remove the evaporator inlet hose clip screw (2).
  5. Remove the evaporator inlet hose retaining nut from the front hose.
  6. Remove the evaporator inlet hose from the vehicle.
  7. Remove the sealing washers.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the new sealing washers. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement .
  2. Install the evaporator inlet hose in to the vehicle.
  3. Install the evaporator inlet hose to the evaporator.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the evaporator inlet hose retaining nut (1).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  7. Install the evaporator inlet hose fitting to the front evaporator tube.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the fitting to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  9. Install the screw into evaporator hose clip (1).
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the fitting to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  11. Install the coolant recover reservoir. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement .
  12. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  13. Leak test the fittings of the components using the J 39400-A .
