Did you perform the Power Door System Diagnostic System Check?

Actuate all the door lock switches to both the lock and unlock positions.

Did all the doors lock and unlock from all of the switches?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Did all of the door lock switches lock and unlock at least one door lock actuator?

Go to Step 4

  1. Disconnect the inoperative door lock actuator.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the door lock actuator lock circuit at the door lock actuator harness connector and a good ground.
  3. Actuate a door lock switch to the lock position.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

  1. Connect a test lamp between the door lock actuator unlock circuit at the door lock actuator harness connector and a good ground.
  2. Actuate a door lock switch to the unlock position.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 15

  1. Gain access to the inoperative door lock switch.
  2. Backprobe the door lock switch harness connector with a test lamp, between the switch ground circuit and battery positive voltage.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 7

  1. Backprobe the door lock switch harness connector with a test lamp, between the door lock signal circuit and battery positive voltage.
  2. Actuate the door lock switch to the lock position.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 8

  1. Backprobe the door lock switch harness connector with a test lamp, between the door unlock signal circuit and battery positive voltage.
  2. Actuate the door lock switch to the unlock position.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

Repair the open in the door lock actuator lock circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in the door lock actuator unlock circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in the door lock switch ground circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Inspect for poor connections at the door lock switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 17

Replace the door lock switch. Refer to Door Lock Switch Replacement .
