03-05 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana Van IPC Will Not Illuminate in DRL Mode - kw indicator light lamp inoperative head headlamp defeat

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.

The IPC will not illuminate when in DRL mode. The owners manual was written incorrectly.

The only illumination on the instrument panel in the DRL mode will be the DRL indicator unless the DRL are in the "defeat" mode. In the "defeat mode", no indicator(s) will be illuminated unless a fault is present. This is a normal concern and no repairs should be attempted.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
