Special Tools

1. Remove the starter. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement .
2. Install the J 44643 in order to hold the flywheel.
3. Remove the radiator fan clutch assembly. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement .
4. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .



5. Remove the crankshaft balancer bolt.
6. Remove the crankshaft balancer.

1. Lightly lubricate the crankshaft balancer internal hub with engine oil.
2. Install the crankshaft balancer to the crankshaft.
3. Lightly lubricate the crankshaft balancer bolt with engine oil.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

4. Install the crankshaft balancer bolt and washer.

Tighten

1. Tighten the bolt a first pass to 100 N·m (74 lb ft).
2. Tighten the bolt a final pass an additional 90 degrees using the J 45059 .



5. Install the radiator fan clutch assembly. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement .
6. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
7. Remove the J 44643 .
8. Install the starter. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement .
