Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Replacement with LH Door

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1198965  Size: SH
  1. Clean all the fuel pipe and hose connections and the surrounding areas before disconnecting in order to avoid contamination of the fuel system.
  2. Remove the fuel filler cap.
  3. Drain the fuel below the level of the fuel tank fill hose. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining .
  4. Remove the 2 retaining bolts and push-pin that retain the filler neck to the body.
  5. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  6. Remove the fuel filler tube ground strap bolt.
  7. Loosen the fuel fill hose to fuel fill pipe clamp.
  8. Disconnect the fuel fill hose from the fuel fill pipe.
  9. Remove the fuel fill pipe assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1198965  Size: SH
  1. Install the fuel fill pipe to the fuel fill hose.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Align the fuel fill pipe to the fuel fill pipe housing.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 2.75 N·m (24 lb in).

  5. Install the fuel filler tube ground strap bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 8 N·m (70 lb in).

  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Install the fuel fill pipe housing bolts and push-pin.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  10. Refill the fuel tank.
  11. Install the fuel filler cap.

Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Replacement without LH Door

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1198967  Size: SH
  1. Clean all the fuel pipe and hose connections and the surrounding areas before disconnecting in order to avoid contamination of the fuel system.
  2. Remove the fuel filler cap.
  3. Drain the fuel below the level of the fuel tank fill hose. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining .
  4. Remove the 2 retaining bolts and push-pin that retain the filler neck to the body.
  5. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  6. Remove the fuel filler tube ground strap bolt.
  7. Loosen the fuel fill hose to fuel fill pipe clamp.
  8. Disconnect the fuel fill hose from the fuel fill pipe.
  9. Remove the fuel fill pipe assembly.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the fuel fill pipe to the fuel fill hose.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Align the fuel fill pipe to the fuel fill pipe housing.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 2.75 N·m (24 lb in).

  5. Install the fuel filler tube ground strap bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 8 N·m (70 lb in).

  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Install the fuel fill pipe housing bolts and push-pin.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  10. Refill the fuel tank.
  11. Install the fuel filler cap.

Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Replacement with Rear Tank

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1198972  Size: SH
  1. Clean all the fuel pipe and hose connections and the surrounding areas before disconnecting in order to avoid contamination of the fuel system.
  2. Remove the fuel filler cap.
  3. Drain the fuel below the level of the fuel tank fill hose. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining.
  4. Remove the 2 retaining bolts and push-pin that retain the filler neck to the body.
  5. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  6. Remove the fuel filler tube ground strap bolt.
  7. Loosen the fuel fill hose to fuel fill pipe clamp.
  8. Disconnect the fuel fill hose from the fuel fill pipe.
  9. Remove the fuel fill pipe assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1198972  Size: SH
  1. Install the fuel fill pipe to the fuel fill hose.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Align the fuel fill pipe to the fuel fill pipe housing.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  5. Install the fuel filler tube ground strap bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 8 N·m (70 lb in).

  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Install the fuel fill pipe housing bolts and push-pin.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  10. Refill the fuel tank.
  11. Install the fuel filler cap.
