Subject:Battery Light On DTC P0621 After Performing Customer Satisfaction 08142

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

The battery light is on and DTC P0621 are set after performing Customer Satisfaction Program 08142 (Reprogram ECM). This will happen on a vehicle that was built with dual generators (RPO KD9), and one generator has been removed to install another accessory.

Recommendation/Instructions:

If this vehicle has RPO KD9 (ALTERNATORS, DUAL, 145 AMPS EACH) but currently only has one generator, have the dealer contact Techline to get a calibration for a single generator.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
