J 39529 Heater Hose Pliers

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the bolt from coolant recovery reservoir.
  2. Set aside the coolant recovery reservoir.
  3. Partially drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling in the G/H Van Service Manual.

  4. Object Number: 893909  Size: SH
  5. Remove the heater inlet hose clamps (4, 8) from the high pressure regulator (HPR) tee fitting (7) using the J 39529 .
  6. Disconnect the heater inlet hoses (4, 8) from the fitting (7).
  7. Remove the heater hose clamp at the heater pipe fitting using the J 39529 .
  8. Remove the heater hose clamp at the engine fitting using the J 39529 .
  9. Remove the heater hoses from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Route the heater inlet hose assembly between the engine fitting (4) and the heater pipe fitting (8).
  2. Clamp the heater inlet hose at the engine and heater pipe fittings using the J 39529 .
  3. Cut the heater hose to the correct length and install the HPR tee fitting (7).
  4. Clamp the heater hoses (4, 8) at the HPR tee fitting (7) using the J 39529 .

  6. Ensure the heater hoses (2) are oriented correctly.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Position the coolant recovery reservoir and install the mounting bolt.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

  10. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling in the G/H Van Service Manual.
  11. Verify that the system has no leaks.
