Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 374484  Size: SH
  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
  2. Remove the bolt holding the coolant recovery reservoir and set the reservoir aside.
  3. Remove the oil level indicator.
  4. Remove the screw holding the oil level indicator and the transmission fluid fill tube to the oil fill tube lower support.

  5. Object Number: 183393  Size: SH
  6. Remove the top half of the oil level indicator tube from the bottom half.
  7. Clean the old sealer from the tube.

  8. Object Number: 172977  Size: SH
  9. Remove the oil level indicator tube bolt.
  10. Remove the oil level indicator tube from the engine using a twisting motion.
  11. Clean the old sealer from the oil level indicator tube and the engine block.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 188009  Size: SH
  1. Apply sealant around the oil level indicator tube 13 mm (0.5 in) below the tube bead. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers for the correct part number.
  2. Install the oil level indicator tube into the engine block. Rotate the oil level indicator tube into position.

  3. Object Number: 183393  Size: SH
  4. Apply sealer on the upper oil level indicator tube to the area where it fits into the lower half. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers for the correct part number.
  5. Install the oil level indicator tube upper half to the lower half.
  6. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  7. Install the bolt that holds the oil level indicator tube and the transmission fluid fill tube to the oil fill tube lower support.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the oil fill level indicator tube and the transmission fluid fill tube to lower support bolt to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  9. Install the oil level indicator.
  10. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
  11. Position the coolant recovery reservoir and install the bolt.
