Removal Procedure
- Remove the commercial outside rearview mirror head from the vehicle.
- Remove the nuts that retain the commercial outside rearview mirror braces to the door.
- Remove the commercial outside rearview mirror braces from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the commercial outside rearview mirror braces to the vehicle.
- Align the holes in the commercial outside rearview mirror braces with the studs on the door.
- Install the nuts that retain the commercial outside rearview mirror braces to the door.
Do not tighten the nuts.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the commercial outside rearview mirror head to the vehicle.
Tighten
Tighten the retaining nuts to 4 N·m (35 lb in).
- Perform the following procedure when the mirror installation is complete:
5.1. | Position the mirror support arm approximately 90 degrees to the door panel. |
5.2. | Torque the following pivot nuts: |
5.2.3. | The mirror support arm |
Tighten
Tighten the pivot nuts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).
