Removal Procedure
- Remove the sliding door lower trim panel.

- Remove the sliding side door control assembly. Refer to
Door Control Replacement
.
- Remove the lock rods from the lock.
- Remove the nuts and the bracket that retain the outside door handle
to the sliding side door.
- Remove the sliding side door outside handle from the door.
Installation Procedure
- Install the sliding side door outside
handle to the door.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the nuts and the bracket in order to retain the outside door
handle to the sliding side door.
Tighten
Tighten the retaining nuts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).
- Install the lock rods to the lock.
- Install the sliding side door control assembly. Refer to

- Install the sliding side door lower trim panel. Refer to
Sliding Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement
