Heater Inlet Pipe Replacement 6.6L

Tools Required

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
3. Remove the upper fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement.



4. Reposition the heater hose clamp at the heater pipe assembly using J 38185 .
5. Remove the heater hose from the heater pipe assembly near the front of the engine.



6. Remove the heater pipe to the engine retaining nut.



7. Reposition the heater hose clamp at the heater pipe assembly using J 38185 .
8. Remove the heater hose/pipe assembly near the rear of the engine.

Important: Note the routing of the hose assembly to ensure proper installation.

9. Remove the heater pipe hose assembly from the vehicle.

1. Install the heater pipe hose assembly to the vehicle.



2. Install the heater hose/pipe assembly near the rear of the engine.
3. Reposition the heater hose clamp at the heater pipe assembly using J 38185 .



4. Install the heater pipe to the engine retaining nut.

Tighten
Tighten the nut to 8 N·m (71 lb in).




5. Install the heater hose to the heater pipe assembly near the front of the engine.
6. Reposition the heater hose clamp at the heater pipe assembly using J 38185 .
7. Install the upper fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement.
8. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
9. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
