The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Certain 2006 Chevrolet Express or GMC Savana vans equipped with a 4.8 LR4 or 6.0 LQ4 engine may have a customer concern of exhaust leak. The exhaust leak may be caused by a loose or missing O2 sensor plug.
A O2 sensor found in the Bank 1 or Bank 2 Sensor 2 position (post O2 sensor) may not be needed on certain vehicle GVWs or emission contented vehicles.
Recommendation/Instructions:
If the vehicle has no driveability concerns, no trouble codes, and O2 sensor operation is normal, inspect for a loose or missing post O2 sensor plug.
If the O2 sensor plug is missing replace with GMSPO part number 25509274.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
