Stabilitrak Disable Switch Is Inoperative - keywords ABS control off TCS traction

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

The Stabilitrak disable switch will not turn off the Stabilitrak system. The Stabilitrak not ready light (car with tire tracks and a line through it) does come on for a bulb check, and then turns off.

To disable the Stabilitrak system, it is necessary to press and hold the Stabilitrak button located on the instrument panel for more than five seconds to turn off Stabilitrak system. To turn the Stabilitrak system back on, just press and release the Stabilitrak Switch. This information can be found in the owner manual in section 4 under Stabilitrak System.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
