J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine cooling fan. Refer to Fan Replacement.
  2. Remove the accumulator. Refer to Air Conditioning Accumulator Replacement
  3. Remove the passenger side wheel house splash shield. Refer to Wheelhouse Splash Shield Replacement
  4. Loosen but DO NOT remove driver side body mount bolts.
  5. Remove passenger side body mount bolts.
  6. Slowly lift the passenger side of the body off the frame, and support.

  8. Remove auxiliary heater hose clamps (1).

  9. Object Number: 2039087  Size: SH
  10. Remove auxiliary a/c evaporator nuts (2).
  11. Remove auxiliary a/c and heater hose bracket nuts (3).
  12. Remove auxiliary a/c and heater hose bracket bolt (4).
  13. Remove auxiliary air conditioning evaporator & heater tube assembly (5).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 2039087  Size: SH
  1. Install auxiliary air conditioning evaporator & heater tube assembly
  2. Install auxiliary a/c and heater hose bracket bolt (4).
  3. Tighten
    6 N·m (5 lb in)

  4. Install auxiliary a/c and heater hose bracket nuts (3).
  5. Tighten
    7 N·m (6 lb in)

  6. Install auxiliary a/c evaporator nut (2).
  7. Tighten
    16 N·m (12 lb ft)

  8. Install auxiliary heater hose clamps (1).
  9. Install rear auxiliary heater hose clamp (1).
  10. Slowly and carefully lower the passenger side of the body onto the frame.
  11. Install passenger side body mount bolts.
  12. Tighten
    140 N·m (103 lb ft)

  13. Tighten driver side body mount bolts.
  14. Tighten
    140 N·m (103 lb ft)

  15. Install the passenger side wheel house splash shield. Refer to Wheelhouse Splash Shield Replacement
  16. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  17. Install the accumulator. Refer to Air Conditioning Accumulator Replacement
  18. Install the engine cooling fan. Refer to Fan Replacement.
