Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle

Operate the cargo lamp to verify the fault is present.

Does the system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Electrical Intermittents

Go to Step 3

1. Turn the cargo lamp switch to the ON position.
2. Disconnect the cargo lamp.
3. Connect a test lamp between the inadvertent power supply voltage circuit of the cargo lamp and a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 9

1. Ensure the cargo lamp switch is in the ON position.
2. Connect a test lamp between the cargo lamp low control circuit of the cargo lamp and a battery positive voltage circuit.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 5

1. Disconnect the cargo lamp switch.
2. Connect a fuse jumper wire between the cargo lamp low control circuit of the cargo lamp switch and the ground circuit of the cargo lamp switch.
3. Connect a test lamp between the cargo lamp low control circuit of the cargo lamp and inadvertent power supply circuit of the cargo lamp.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 8

Connect a test lamp between the ground circuit of the cargo lamp switch and a battery positive voltage circuit.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 11

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the bulbs. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 14

Go to Step 12

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the cargo lamp switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 14

Go to Step 13

Repair the open in the inadvertent power supply voltage circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 14

Repair the open in the cargo lamp low control circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 14

Repair the open in the ground circuit of the cargo lamp switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 14

Replace the cargo lamp bulbs.

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 14

Replace the cargo lamp switch. Refer to Fog Lamp and Cargo Lamp Switch Assembly Replacement.

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 14

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
