The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Some owners my comment of a no crank concern. When checking for dtc's the PCM will have P1AAB, P1AAC, P1AAD, and/or P1AAE set. Following the SI diagnostic flow chart may lead you to replace the SGCM because the resistance instructions in SI do not always indicate a high resistance and/or short between the 3-phase cables and /or stator lugs. Follow the recommendations below prior to replacing the SGCM.

Recommendation/Instructions:

A visual inspection for arcing at the cable to stator connections must be performed first by removing the cables from the stator. If there are signs of arcing, replace only the components that show the effects of the arcing, such as pitting or metal transfer. If only the stator shows arcing effects, the 3 phase cables do not require replacement and vice-versa.If there are no signs of arcing, only the stator should be replaced and the system should be re-tested for the above DTCs. Replace the SGCM only if the DTCs reset after either 3 phase cable or stator replacemen

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
