The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
A dealer may encounter a vehicle that sets DTC P0101 at start-up or shortly after start-up. There has been a new calibration released to address a P0101 setting after start-up.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Complete the current SI diagnostic for any trouble codes or symptoms found.
Inspect the vehicle for any aftermarket intake air system parts or filter elements. To properly diagnose MAF sensor DTCs, the vehicle must have the original equipment air filter and air box installed.
If the diagnosis is inconclusive, review the freeze frame information, and check the engine run time when DTC P0101 set.
If the DTC set at start-up or shortly after start-up (usually within 90 seconds), please program the vehicle with the latest TIS2000 calibration and evaluate the repair.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
