The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may experience a current or intermittent SIR light on. After general diagnosis, you may notice one of the following SIR codes: B0085, B0086, B0087 and B0088 (Side impact sensor fault ) set in the SDM. This may be caused by a wiring concern inside one of the doors, caused by the window actuator pulling out the terminals in one of the side impact sensors.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Please inspect the wiring at the sensor in the door areas ( for the affected DTC ) for this condition and repair wiring and reposition for proper clearance as needed. Please note, wiring damage does not impact the Side Impact Sensor and should not be replaced if this wiring issue is discovered and repaired. If you do not see any evidence of wiring damage, then please follow the published SI diagnostics for this repair.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
