- Use a flange or some other type of tool to place the assembly in a vertical position.
- Remove the clutch bearing from the drive shaft and the synchronizer ring.
- Remove the pulleys, the track, and the push bearing.
- Remove the 3rd and 4th gear synchronizer.
- Remove the 3rd gear synchronizer.
- Remove the 3rd gear.
- Remove the cage with the 3rd gear rollers.
- Using a bearing remover or press, remove the 3rd gear hub, supporting it on the 2nd gear.
- Remove the 2nd gear roller cage.
- Remove the 2nd gear synchronizer ring.
- Using locking pliers, remove the snap ring from the synchronization hammer on the 1st and 2nd gears.
- Using a bearing press or remover, remove the 1st gear and the synchronizer.
- Remove the 1st and 2nd gear synchronizer.
- Remove the synchronizer ring and intermediate ring from the 1st gear.
- Remove the 1st gear interior taper bearing.
- Remove the 1st gear.
- Remove the 1st gear roller cage.
- Invert the main shaft so the 5th gear is positioned upward.
- Using a remover or a press, remove the 5th gear.
- Remove the push pulley from the reverse gear.
- Using a magnet, remove the pulley sphere from the reverse gear.
- Remove the reverse gear and the synchronizer.
- Remove the roller cage from the reverse gear.
- Remove the reverse synchronizer ring.
- Using locking pliers, remove the snap ring from the reverse clutch ring.
- Remove the reverse clutch bearing.
