175 Amp Mega Fuse Replacement With Auxiliary Battery

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1857176 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the auxiliary battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
  2. Remove the mega fuse cover.

    3. Object Number: 1857420 Size: SH
  3. Remove the starter solenoid cable nut (1) from the fuse stud.
  4. Remove the starter solenoid cable terminal (2) from the fuse stud.

    5. Object Number: 1857184 Size: SH
  5. Remove the auxiliary battery positive cable nut (1) from the mega fuse holder.
  6. Remove the generator battery jumper cable to fuse nut (3).
  7. Remove the generator battery jumper cable terminal (2) from the fuse stud.
  8. Remove the auxiliary battery positive cable from the fuse studs.

    9. Object Number: 1857459 Size: SH
  9. Remove the upper mega fuse nut (1), if necessary.
  10. Remove the appropriate mega fuse (2).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1857459 Size: SH
  1. Install the appropriate mega fuse (2).

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Install the upper mega fuse nut (1), if necessary.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 15 N路m (11 lb ft).

  3. Install the auxiliary battery positive cable to the fuse studs.
  4. Install the generator battery jumper cable terminal (2) to the fuse stud.
  5. Install the generator battery jumper cable to fuse nut (3).

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 9 N路m (80 lb in).

  6. Install the auxiliary battery positive cable nut (1) to the mega fuse holder.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 15 N路m (11 lb ft).

  7. Install the starter solenoid cable terminal (2) to the fuse stud.
  8. Install the starter solenoid cable nut (1) to the fuse stud.

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 15 N路m (11 lb ft).

  9. Install the mega fuse cover.
  10. Connect the auxiliary battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.

175 Amp Mega Fuse Replacement With Single Battery

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1702800 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
  2. Remove the fuse cover.

    3. Object Number: 1702504 Size: SH
  3. Remove the starter solenoid cable nut (1) from the fuse stud.
  4. Remove the starter solenoid cable terminal (2) from the fuse stud.

    5. Object Number: 1699546 Size: SH
  5. Remove the generator battery jumper cable to fuse nut (3).
  6. Remove the generator battery jumper cable terminal (4) from the fuse stud.
  7. Remove the positive battery cable terminal from the fuse stud.

    8. Object Number: 1714852 Size: SH
  8. Remove the fuse from the holder.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1714852 Size: SH
  1. Install the fuse to the holder.

    2. Object Number: 1699546 Size: SH
  2. Install the positive battery cable terminal to the fuse stud.
  3. Install the generator battery jumper cable terminal (4) to the fuse stud.

    4. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  4. Install the generator battery jumper cable to fuse nut (3).

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 15 N路m (11 lb ft).

  5. Install the starter solenoid cable terminal (2) to the fuse stud.
  6. Install the starter solenoid cable nut (1) to the fuse stud.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 15 N路m (11 lb ft).

  7. Install the fuse cover.
  8. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
