With 6.6L LBZ engine



The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Some owners may comment of a power steering fluid leak. If the leak is found to be from the power steering pump, inspect the 3 mounting bolts. All three mounting bolts should be the same length 1 inch (25 mm) without an unthreaded tip (starter pilot). There has been some cases where one of the three mounting bolts is to long and when it's installed it damages the pump.

Recommendation/Instructions:

If one of the bolts is longer than the other two, the power steering pump must be replaced. To prevent this from reoccurring replace the longer bolt with part number 11515765.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
