Removal Procedure
- Remove the flywheel. Refer to
Engine Flywheel Replacement.
- Clean the area around the crankshaft rear oil seal.
- Install the button of
J 44641
into the crankshaft.
- Press the jaws of
J 44641
into the felt portion of the seal far enough to engage the inner lip of the seal.
- While holding the
J 44641
tightly to the seal inner sleeve, tighten the jaw bolts.
- Remove the crankshaft rear oil seal using
J 44641
.
Installation Procedure
- Ensure that the crankshaft is free of oil and dirt.
- Clean the seal bore in the flywheel housing.
- Position the crankshaft rear oil seal onto the crankshaft.
Important: J 44642
must be fully secured to the crankshaft to ensure proper seal depth.
- Install
J 44642
to the crankshaft.
- Press the crankshaft rear oil seal into position using
J 44642
, the tool will bottom out when the seal reaches the proper depth.
- Remove
J 44642
.
- Install the flywheel. Refer to
Engine Flywheel Replacement.
