The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
The customer concern may be a Low Oil Level Indicator on.
Complete the current SI diagnostics for any trouble code or symptom found. A low oil level indicator may come on with a slightly low oil level. If the SI diagnostic for Low Engine Oil Level Indicator Always On has been completed and the oil level is only slightly low, replace the oil level sensor and top off the engine oil. An improperly calibrated oil level sensor may cause a premature low oil level indicator to come on. Evaluate repairs and start an oil consumption test. The accepted rate of oil consumption is 0.946 liter (1 qt) in 3200 km (2000 mi).
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
