The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
You may experience an ABS lamp followed by a Service Stability message in the Drivers Information Center. After Initial diagnosis, you may have a diagnostic code C0131 set in the EBCM.
If you remove an EBCM from one vehicle and install it on another vehicle (as a test or for a customers vehicle that is down) it is very likely that a DTC C0131 will set due to a brake pressure sensor calibration valve out of range. If this occurs, you will be unable to clear this DTC.
If you experience this DTC after replacing the EBCM, perform a brake pressure sensor calibration with the Tech 2 by accessing the following menus:
Chassis/ EBCM/ Special Functions/ Brake Pressure Sensor Calibration.
Use the Tech 2 soft keys to "Enable" the calibration. You will notice after the soft key is pressed the Command State will change from "None" to "Enable". Continue to wait until the command state changes from "Enable" to "Off". Once completed, back out of the Tech 2 and turn off the Ignition Key and Tech 2 for 1 minute.
Note: Make sure your Tech 2 is on the latest version. This reset function was not available until version 27.001, released 01/03/07
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
