Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 188048 Size: SH
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Remove the oil pan drain plug and drain the oil into a suitable container.

    3. Object Number: 783725 Size: SH
  3. Remove the oil filter.
  4. Remove the oil filter adapter.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 188048 Size: SH
  1. Install the oil pan drain plug into the drain pan and tighten to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

    2. Object Number: 783725 Size: SH
  2. Install the oil filter adapter and tighten to 55 N·m (41 lb ft).
  3. Install the oil filter and tighten to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
  4. Lower the vehicle.
  5. Fill the engine with the proper quantity and quality of engine oil. Refer to Approximate Fluid Capacities.
