Front Seat Belt Pickup
Removal Procedure
- Remove the bolt that retains the lower seat belt anchor plate to the vehicle.
- Carefully pry open the upper seat belt anchor plate cover with a flat-bladed
tool.
- Remove the bolt that retains the upper seat belt anchor plate to the vehicle.
- Use a flat-bladed tool to carefully remove the seat belt opening trim cover.
- Remove the body side trim panel, refer to SECTION 10A4.
- Guide the seat belt through the opening in the body side trim
cover.
- Remove the bolt that retains the seat belt retractor assembly to the vehicle.
- Remove the seat belt retractor assembly from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the seat belt retractor assembly to the vehicle.
- Install the bolt that retains the seat belt retractor assembly
to the vehicle.
Tighten
Tighten the seat belt retractor assembly bolt to 70 N·m
(52 lb ft).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Guide the seat belt through the opening in the body side trim cover.
- Install the body side trim panel, refer to SECTION 10A4.
- Install the seat belt opening trim cover.
- Install the upper seat belt anchor plate and bolt to the vehicle.
Tighten
Tighten the upper seat belt anchor plate bolt to 70 N·m
(52 lb ft).
- Close the upper seat belt anchor plate cover.
- Install the lower seat belt anchor plate and bolt to the vehicle.
Tighten
Tighten the lower seat belt anchor plate bolt to 70 N·m
(52 lb ft).
Front Seat Belt Two-Door Utility
Removal Procedure
- Remove the bolt that retains the lower seat belt anchor plate to the vehicle.
- Carefully pry open the upper seat belt anchor plate cover with a flat-bladed

- Remove the bolt that retains the upper seat belt anchor plate to the vehicle.
- Remove the body side trim panel, refer to SECTION 10A4.
- Guide the seat belt through the opening in the body side trim

- Remove the seat belt retractor assembly from the vehicle.

Tighten the seat belt retractor assembly bolt to 70 N·m
(52 lb ft).

- Install the lower seat belt anchor plate and bolt to the vehicle.

Tighten the lower seat belt anchor plate bolt to 70 N·m
(52 lb ft).
Front Seat Belt Four-Door Utility
Removal Procedure
- Remove the bolt that retains the lower seat belt anchor plate to the vehicle.
- Carefully pry open the upper seat belt anchor plate cover with a flat-bladed
tool.
- Remove the bolt that retains the upper seat belt anchor plate to the vehicle.
- Remove the front side door lock pillar garnish molding, refer
to SECTION 10A4.
- Guide the seat belt through the opening in the garnish molding.
- Remove the bolt that retains the seat belt retractor assembly to the vehicle.
- Remove the seat belt retractor assembly from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the seat belt retractor assembly to the vehicle.
- Install the bolt that retains the seat belt retractor assembly
to the vehicle.
Tighten
Tighten the seat belt retractor assembly bolt to 70 N·m
(52 lb ft).

- Install the front side door lock pillar garnish molding,
refer to SECTION 10A4.
- Install the upper seat belt anchor plate and bolt to the vehicle.
Tighten
Tighten the upper seat belt anchor plate bolt to 70 N·m
(52 lb ft).
- Close the upper seat belt anchor plate cover.
- Install the lower seat belt anchor plate and bolt to the vehicle.
Tighten
Tighten the lower seat belt anchor plate bolt to 70 N·m
(52 lb ft).
Front Seat Belt Rear Side Door
Removal Procedure
- Remove the bolt that retains the lower seat belt anchor plate to the rear
side door.
- Carefully pry open the upper seat belt anchor plate cover with a flat-bladed
tool.
- Remove the bolt that retains the upper seat belt anchor plate to the rear
side door.
- Use a flat-bladed tool to carefully remove the seat belt opening trim cover.
- Remove the rear side door trim panel, refer to SECTION 10A1.
- Guide the seat belt through the opening in the rear side door
trim panel.
- Remove the bolt that retains the seat belt retractor assembly to the rear
side door.
- Remove the seat belt retractor assembly from the rear side door.
Installation Procedure
- Install the seat belt retractor assembly to the rear side door.
- Install the bolt that retains the seat belt retractor assembly
to the rear side door.
Tighten
Tighten the seat belt retractor assembly bolt to 70 N·m
(52 lb ft).

- Install the rear side door trim panel, refer to SECTION 10A1.
- Install the seat belt opening trim cover.
- Install the upper seat belt anchor plate and bolt to the rear side door.
Tighten
Tighten the upper seat belt anchor plate bolt to 70 N·m
(52 lb ft).
- Close the upper seat belt anchor plate cover.
- Install the lower seat belt anchor plate and bolt to the rear side door.
Tighten
Tighten the lower seat belt anchor plate bolt to 70 N·m
(52 lb ft).
