Rear Seat Belt Two-Door Utility
Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear seat assembly, refer to SECTION 10A2.
- Remove the lower seat belt anchor plate from the rear seat bolt.
- Remove the upper seat belt anchor bolt cover.
- Remove the bolt that retains the upper seat belt anchor plate.
- Remove the body side trim panel, refer to SECTION 10A4.
- Guide the seat belt through the opening in the body side trim
panel.
- Remove the bolt that retains the seat belt retractor assembly to the vehicle.
- Remove the seat belt retractor assembly from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the seat belt retractor assembly to the vehicle.
- Install the bolt that retains the rear seat belt retractor assembly
to the vehicle.
Tighten
Tighten the seat belt retractor assembly bolt to 70 N·m
(52 lb ft).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Guide the seat belt through the opening in the body side trim
panel.
- Install the body side trim panel, refer to SECTION 10A4.
- Install the upper seat belt anchor plate and bolt to the vehicle.
Tighten
Tighten the upper seat belt anchor plate bolt to 70 N·m
(52 lb ft).
- Install the upper seat belt anchor bolt cover.
- Install the lower seat belt anchor plate to the rear seat bolt.
- Install the rear seat assembly, refer to SECTION 10A2.
Rear Seat Belt Four-Door Utility
Removal Procedure
- Remove the bolt that retains the lower seat belt anchor plate to the vehicle.
- Carefully pry open the upper seat belt anchor plate cover with a flat-bladed
tool.
- Remove the bolt that retains the upper seat belt anchor plate to the vehicle.
- Remove the body side trim panel, refer to SECTION 10A4.
- Guide the seat belt through the opening in the body side trim
panel.
- Remove the bolt that retains the seat belt retractor assembly to the vehicle.
- Remove the seat belt retractor assembly from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the seat belt retractor assembly to the vehicle.
- Install the bolt that retains the seat belt retractor assembly
to the vehicle.
Tighten
Tighten the seat belt retractor assembly bolt to 70 N·m
(52 lb ft).

Rear Seat Belt Child Comfort Guide
Removal Procedure
The child comfort guide is used only in utility vehicles. The guides
are located on the body side trim panels, next to the outboard rear seats.
- Remove the retainer that secures the child comfort guide to the
body side trim panel by using a flat-bladed tool.
- Remove the child comfort guide from the body side trim panel.
Installation Procedure
- Install the child comfort guide to the body side trim panel.
- Install the retainer that secures the child comfort guide to the
body side trim panel.
