Rear Seat Belt Two-Door Utility

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 68054  Size: SH
  1. Remove the rear seat assembly, refer to SECTION 10A2.
  2. Remove the lower seat belt anchor plate from the rear seat bolt.

  3. Object Number: 7028  Size: SH
  4. Remove the upper seat belt anchor bolt cover.

  5. Object Number: 7031  Size: SH
  6. Remove the bolt that retains the upper seat belt anchor plate.
  7. Remove the body side trim panel, refer to SECTION 10A4.
  8. Guide the seat belt through the opening in the body side trim panel.

  9. Object Number: 68056  Size: SH
  10. Remove the bolt that retains the seat belt retractor assembly to the vehicle.
  11. Remove the seat belt retractor assembly from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 68056  Size: SH
  1. Install the seat belt retractor assembly to the vehicle.
  2. Install the bolt that retains the rear seat belt retractor assembly to the vehicle.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the seat belt retractor assembly bolt to 70 N·m (52 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Guide the seat belt through the opening in the body side trim panel.
  5. Install the body side trim panel, refer to SECTION 10A4.

  6. Object Number: 7031  Size: SH
  7. Install the upper seat belt anchor plate and bolt to the vehicle.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the upper seat belt anchor plate bolt to 70 N·m (52 lb ft).


    Object Number: 7028  Size: SH
  9. Install the upper seat belt anchor bolt cover.

  10. Object Number: 68054  Size: SH
  11. Install the lower seat belt anchor plate to the rear seat bolt.
  12. Install the rear seat assembly, refer to SECTION 10A2.

Rear Seat Belt Four-Door Utility

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 68058  Size: SH
  1. Remove the bolt that retains the lower seat belt anchor plate to the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 7692  Size: SH
  3. Carefully pry open the upper seat belt anchor plate cover with a flat-bladed tool.

  4. Object Number: 68053  Size: SH
  5. Remove the bolt that retains the upper seat belt anchor plate to the vehicle.
  6. Remove the body side trim panel, refer to SECTION 10A4.
  7. Guide the seat belt through the opening in the body side trim panel.

  8. Object Number: 68057  Size: SH
  9. Remove the bolt that retains the seat belt retractor assembly to the vehicle.
  10. Remove the seat belt retractor assembly from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the seat belt retractor assembly to the vehicle.
  2. Install the bolt that retains the seat belt retractor assembly to the vehicle.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the seat belt retractor assembly bolt to 70 N·m (52 lb ft).

  7. Install the upper seat belt anchor plate and bolt to the vehicle.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the upper seat belt anchor plate bolt to 70 N·m (52 lb ft).

  9. Close the upper seat belt anchor plate cover.

  10. Object Number: 68058  Size: SH
  11. Install the lower seat belt anchor plate and bolt to the vehicle.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the lower seat belt anchor plate bolt to 70 N·m (52 lb ft).

Rear Seat Belt Child Comfort Guide

Removal Procedure

The child comfort guide is used only in utility vehicles. The guides are located on the body side trim panels, next to the outboard rear seats.

  1. Remove the retainer that secures the child comfort guide to the body side trim panel by using a flat-bladed tool.
  2. Remove the child comfort guide from the body side trim panel.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the child comfort guide to the body side trim panel.
  2. Install the retainer that secures the child comfort guide to the body side trim panel.
