Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 411251  Size: SH

    Caution: Before servicing any electrical component, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position and all electrical loads must be OFF, unless instructed otherwise in these procedures. If a tool or equipment could easily come in contact with a live exposed electrical terminal, also disconnect the negative battery cable. Failure to follow these precautions may cause personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
  2. Remove the plastic cap from the load leveling air direction valve at the inflator fill valve.
  3. Remove the retaining nut and washer from the load leveling air direction valve at the inflator fill valve.
  4. Remove the body side trim panel. Refer to Body Side Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

  5. Object Number: 411257  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the air lines from the load leveling air direction valve.

  7. Object Number: 411261  Size: SH
  8. Loosen the load leveling air direction valve to the body side trim panel mounting nut.
  9. Remove the load leveling air direction valve from the body side trim panel.

  10. Object Number: 411265  Size: SH
  11. Disconnect the electrical connector from the load leveling air direction valve.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 411265  Size: SH
  1. Connect the electrical connector to the load leveling air direction valve.
  2. Install the load leveling air direction valve to the body side trim panel.

  3. Object Number: 411261  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Tighten the load leveling air direction valve to the body side trim panel mounting nut.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the load leveling air direction valve to body side trim panel mounting nut to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  6. Connect the air lines to the load leveling air direction valve.
  7. Install the body side trim panel. Refer to Body Side Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

  8. Object Number: 411251  Size: SH
  9. Install the load leveling air direction valve washer and retaining nut at inflator fill valve.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the load leveling air direction valve retaining nut at the inflator fill valve to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  11. Install the plastic cap to the load leveling air direction valve at inflator fill valve.
  12. Connect the battery negative cable.
