Power Steering Pump Shaft Seal Replacement CB Series

Tools Required

J 7728 Oil Seal Installer

1. Remove the power steering pump from the vehicle, if necessary. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement .



2. Protect the drive shaft (2) with the shim stock.
3. Use a small chisel in order to remove the seal (1).

Discard the seal.

1. Lubricate the new drive shaft seal (1) using power steering fluid.



2. Use the J 7728 in order to install the new drive shaft seal.
3. Install the power steering pump, if removed. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement .

Power Steering Pump Shaft Seal Replacement P Series

1. Remove the power steering pump from the vehicle. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement .
2. Use the shim stock in order to protect the drive shaft.



3. Use a chisel in order to cut and remove the seal.

Tools Required

J 7728 Shaft Oil Seal Installer

1. Lubricate the seal using power steering fluid.
2. Use the J 7728 in order to install the seal.
3. Install the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement .
